This page covers the Alchemy modern bedroom and how to plan one as a complete composition rather than a row of separate pieces. The photographs below show the Alchemy bed, bench, chest, dresser, night table, ottoman and vanity desk; the text pairs them with current pieces in ash, lacquer and metal.
One dominant finish, softer supports
Alchemy works when one finish leads and the others support it. Leather, fabric and lacquer can make a strong private room, but if every surface competes, the calm is lost. Start from the bed as the visual anchor, check the clearance around it, then add the dresser, bench and storage.
An ash bed and a lacquered chest
The Musa Bed with headboard model C by Francesco Pasi is built in ash blockboard with solid ash parts and legs. Its lacquered finishes run from White Ash to Earth Ash and Ash Grey. Opposite, the Ocean Chest of Drawers with a fully lacquered facade by Francesco Pasi comes in Butter, Pearl or White, or in 100 Gloss Ivory, Dove Grey or White. Both fit an italian bedroom set planned around pale tones.
Metal-fronted bedside tables
The Concetto Bedside Table by Cantori, designed by Borgonovo+Valsecchi, adds a cool metal accent beside the bed. Its drawer fronts are covered in metal, and cuts across them act as integrated handles. It comes with a drawer and shelf or with two drawers. Match the metal of the fronts to the lamp bases for a tidy result. For the dining room, see luxury designer dining tables.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the slatted base included with the Musa bed?
No. The orthopaedic beech slatted base is sold separately.
How do the Concetto drawers open without handles?
Cuts across the metal-covered drawer fronts act as integrated handles, so no separate pulls are fitted.
Can the Ocean chest have metallic decoration?
Yes. Gold leaf or chrome leaf decoration is available on the lacquered chest.
