This guide explains the Imperial living room, a classic scheme where metal decoration balances opulence with comfort. It also shows how to fit that look into a smaller room with current Francesco Pasi pieces: a two-seat Gran Guardia loveseat, a compact carved wall cabinet and a solid cherry coffee table.
Loveseat or full sofa?
Choose a loveseat when the wall is under three metres or the room has two seating zones. The Gran Guardia Loveseat with 2 Cushions by Francesco Pasi measures H 104 x W 134 x D 92 cm, leaving space for an armchair on each side. Hand carving by master craftsmen covers the frame. For longer walls, compare each italian couch in the catalogue.
Can small wall cabinets carry a classic room?
Yes, when they repeat the carving and finish of the seating. The Gran Guardia Wall Cabinet with Panelled Door by Francesco Pasi is H 63 x W 63 x D 40 cm, small enough to hang as a pair either side of a window. Its sides, bottom and frame are blockboard 18 mm veneered in cherry. Hang both at the height of the loveseat back, or line them up with the door frames, so the wall reads as planned.
What should the coffee table add?
It should add plain wood to balance the carved and metal pieces. The New Deco Rectangular Coffee Table by Francesco Pasi has a solid cherry frame and comes in cherry, lacquer or Luxury. Imperial relied on metal decoration for its glamour, and a calmer table lets that detail stand out. See how these parts combine under luxury lounge furniture.
