New Deco upholstered classic beds made of wood are the focus here, along with the headboard choices behind them. The original line paired upholstered and carved beds with chests and nightstands whose drawers repeat the sculpted detail; three current pieces show how to plan it now.
Fretwork or upholstery on the headboard
A fretworked headboard keeps the bed open and graphic; an upholstered one adds softness to lean against. New Deco offered upholstered wooden beds alongside carved ones, so both are true to the style. The New Deco Fretworked Bed by Francesco Pasi takes the open route, with a shaped headboard in grid fretwork on a solid cherry structure, 45 mm. Finishes run from cherry to white, grey or sand lacquer, or Luxury.
Planning the wardrobe wall
A wardrobe wall needs its width and depth checked before anything else. The Gran Guardia Wardrobe with wood panels by Francesco Pasi measures H 250 x W 244 x D 67 cm and closes with two sliding doors. Its carving is made entirely by hand by master craftsmen in solid cherry. For a wider view of pieces built to this standard, see elegant italian furniture.
A leather bench at the foot of the bed
A bench gives a place to sit and to lay out clothes without crowding the floor. The New Deco Bench in Leather by Francesco Pasi has a solid cherry frame, finished in cherry, lacquer or Luxury. Choose the same finish as the bed so the two read as a pair. Other matching pieces are grouped under italian bedroom furniture.
